Navigate to the Add Fields tab under My Carbon Status.
Once on the Add Fields page, take a second to read through the map tips and resources at the left.
You can add your fields in one of three ways:
Connect: Add fields from your John Deere Operations Center. This is the best option if you have all your field boundaries already mapped in John Deere.
Upload: Add fields by uploading shapefiles. This is the best option if you already have digital files of your boundaries.
Draw: Add fields by selecting pre-determined CLU boundaries. This is the best option if you do not have shapefiles or digital boundaries to upload.
Option 1: Connect
If you already have your field boundaries mapped in John Deere, use the Connect option to bring them over to your Carbon account. For details on how to do this, check out this how-to guide.
Option 2: Upload
If you have digital files of your field boundaries, you can use this option to upload them to the Carbon site.

You will then see the below screen with details about shapefile upload. Please read through it, gather your files, and click "Browse Files" when you are ready.

Option 3: Draw
Step 1: Click the blue "Draw" button. Within Draw mode you can begin adding fields by selecting from pre-selected USDA field boundaries called CLUs (Common Land Units). After selecting one or more CLUs, adjust the boundary by clicking and dragging the white dots to make sure the field is accurate.
Step 2: You can also manually draw your field boundary by using the draw features at the top of the page under the Draw button.
Step 3: When drawing a polygon or circle, be sure to click the Finish Shape button to complete your drawing. You can also select multiple shapes to represent one field.
If your field has minor gaps or breaks, use the tools under the Remove drop-down to cut out trees, buildings, waterways, etc.
You can also use the Undo and Redo features for more flexible field editing.
Regardless of which option you choose to add your field boundaries, please be sure to fill in the field name and select the Farm (if this is the first field you are adding, you will need to add a Farm Name) and Land Type for each mapped field before clicking "Save".
If you are returning to add more fields, you can do so from the Fields page by clicking on "Add Fields" and then selecting the option that works best for you!
Last Step!: Once you are finished adding all your fields, you will click Check Eligibility.
