After you have enrolled your fields, Carbon by Indigo checks with certain 3rd party resources to confirm entered information.
You may have logged into your account to start entering records on your fields and noticed the above error message.
Don’t worry, some issues may be resolvable, but they must be resolved with our Customer Success Team. If they haven’t reached out to you yet, contact them through the red chat button at the bottom of the page.
In the following chart are common resolutions for this error. Your Customer Success Coordinator will let you know the reason for the error.
Eligibility Flag | Context | Resolution |
Land Conversion 10 Year | Each field enrolled in this Program must have been under agricultural production for at least 10 years prior to planting the current year's crop. | If this field has been in crop production for at least 10 years, the grower must provide Indigo with a 578 form or proof of federal crop insurance documenting crop production for that time period.
If confirmed it has been less than 10 years since converting to cropland, this field is not eligible for our program at this time. |
Highly Erodible Land | We've detected this field as highly erodible. | Written confirmation that the grower has federal crop insurance or an AD-1026 form.
These documents should support that the field had an exemption and was allowed to grow cash crops.
If this can not be confirmed, the field is not eligible at this time. |
Land Type | We've detected an unusual area that is not cropland. Typically this is a road, waterway, building, etc. | Edit the field boundary to remove any waterways, buildings, trees, etc.
Or
Request a manual review and Indigo will attempt to edit the boundary as needed. |
Wetlands | We've detected this field as including wetland(s). | Written confirmation that the grower has federal crop insurance or an AD-1026 form.
These documents should support that the field had an exemption and was allowed to grow cash crops.
If this can not be confirmed, the field is not eligible at this time. |
Histosols | We've detected this field as including histosols. | Our Customer Success team will edit your field boundaries to remove the area with identified histosols.
After we edit the field boundaries, you will confirm the new acreage. |
Field boundary overlap | Your field has 1 pixel in non-cropland, federal lands, or other mapped fields/entities. | Our Customer Success team will edit the field boundary to remove even 1 pixel of land that isn’t cropland.
