After you have enrolled your fields, Carbon by Indigo checks with certain third-party resources to confirm entered information.

You may have logged into your account to start entering records on your fields and noticed a Contact Indigo Support message.

Don’t worry, some issues may be resolvable, but they must be resolved with our Customer Success Team. If they haven’t reached out to you yet, contact them through the red chat button at the bottom of the page.

The following chart lists common resolutions for this error. Your Customer Success Coordinator will let you know the specific reason for the error.

Land Conversion 10 Year

Each field enrolled in this Program must have been under agricultural production for at least 10 years prior to planting the current year's crop.

If this field has been in crop production for at least 10 years, the grower must provide Indigo with a 578 form or proof of federal crop insurance documenting crop production for that time period.

If confirmed it has been less than 10 years since converting to cropland, this field is not eligible for our program at this time.

Highly Erodible Land

We've detected this field as highly erodible.

Written confirmation that the grower has federal crop insurance or can provide an AD-1026 form.

These documents should support that the field had an exemption and was allowed to grow cash crops.

If this cannot be confirmed, the field is not eligible at this time.

Land Type

We've detected an unusual area that is not cropland. Typically, this is a road, waterway, building, etc.

Edit the field boundary to remove any waterways, buildings, trees, etc.

Or

Request a manual review and Indigo will attempt to edit the boundary as needed.

Wetlands

We've detected this field as including wetland(s).

Written confirmation that the grower has federal crop insurance or can provide an AD-1026 form.

These documents should support that the field had an exemption and was allowed to grow cash crops.

If this cannot be confirmed, the field is not eligible at this time.

Histosols

We've detected this field as including histosols.

Fields with histosols are not eligible for the program. If only part of the field contains histosols, we can sometimes edit the boundary to qualify the part of the field that does not contain them. Our Customer Success team will assess the area with identified histosols and determine whether the field is a good candidate for this option.

After we edit the field boundaries, you will confirm the new acreage.

Field boundary overlap

Your field has at least 1 pixel in federal land or other mapped fields/entities.

Our Customer Success team will edit the field boundary to remove the overlap.
